As it turns out...

I didn't have to sell an egg at all to get these babies! Apparently just turning 26 and threatening to sell an egg did it! My wonderful husband surprised me on our way out the door to dinner with my parents with black patent Christian Louboutin shoes. They are....hmmmm...how do I say this...AH-MAZING. I've dreamed of having a pair of these shoes and I'm literally still in shock that it came true! Sorry to sound so shallow...but guys...literally...in my mind these were unattainable only to be coveted by the movie stars the strutted down the carpet in them kind of shoes. Whew...I feel so darn lucky! Thanks babe for a wonderful gift!

Note to self: Don't ever make your status on facebook "still in shock." People think that means "I'm pregnant." Sorry to disappoint, but I'm not. And not to worry, when the time comes...you won't have to wonder if that's what I mean. Have I ever been a private person or someone who plays mind games with fb statuses? I didn't think so... :-)

A Woman's Touch Dinner

Park Cities Baptist Church hosts A Woman's Touch dinner each year. The tables for the dinner and "hosted" and decorated by church members. There are always some pretty spectacular tables, so I want to show a few off. Emily Mendez, Lisa Chamness, Jill Beavers and I were all on the committee that put this shindig together.

Me, Em and Lisa

Ok, I turned my nose up at this table at first, because from afar it's hard to tell what's going on, but it ended up being one of my favs. You may not be able to tell from the pic, but the table depicts the 4 seasons. Every 2-3 chairs starts a new season. You can see Christmas is on the left, spring is on the right, and summer and fall are on the other side. The details were amazing on this table!

This table was a favorite! LOTS of work went into this one.

This table tugged at the heart strings of all. Each woman that sat here had an immediate family member that was serving or has served in the military. The table was filled with pictures of these people and each plate had a camouflage napkin folded into a pocket, wrapped in a dog tag that had the Hebrews 11:1-12:2 verse, and a camo bible. SO cute! (click on the pic so you can see each place setting)

Our care group's table's theme this year was "Little Miss Sonshine." We dumped a bag of sand in the middle of the table and filled the middle with beach themed items (sun screen, buckets, shovels, flip flops, etc.) The palm is real and we hung mini lanterns from it. Thanks Lisa and Marsha for helping put this together!

Ben Folds Rocks the DSO

Sorry I am a little behind on blog posting. I went to Florida to visit my friend Meg this past weekend and then caught the swine flu. OINK OINK! Before I left for Florida we got to see Ben Folds play with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. It was an amazing performance. Here are some videos of the concert! Enjoy! (Florida post coming soon)

Days 5 & 6

Patrick got to spend some one on one time with Emily while I went to a baby shower on Saturday morning. I was able to snap some photos before I left for the shower.

Em and Holly were BFF. It made for great entertainment for both!

This photo makes it look like Holly has a party hat on. This was not party for Holly Berry.
We may have some jealousy issues when baby Hanchey comes one day.

This picture sums up day 6 pretty well. I woke up at midnight on Saturday night throwing up which was followed by, well, the opposite of that. It continued all night and through the morning until I had nothing else in my stomach. I wasn't even able to keep ice chips down and had a fever. There was also no relief from the nausea...at least in the past, there was some relief after throwing up, but with this, there was NONE. We decided to go to the ER for some fluids and nausea medicine because I could tell dehydration was beginning to set in. Luckily, Em was supposed to go stay with another family on Sunday night because the day care would not be open on Monday, so they came to pick her up a little early. The nurse that was supposed to be on duty at this ER was out sick with the same thing and the doc told us that they have seen numerous cases of this virus over the past couple of weeks. Lucky me :). They took great care of me though! I got an iv of fluids and nausea medicine (with a sedative) and something to bring the fever down.

Days 3 & 4

The last couple of days have been somewhat uneventful. Em is adjusting well to life at the Hanchey Hacienda, but I can't take any credit. She's just an awesomely easy baby. God, can I put my order in for one like Em?

One thing I've noticed is that she really loves her friend Hayden's CD that that I got as a favor at her 1st birthday party. Some of Em's favorites are
It's a Hard Knock Life, If You're Happy and You Know It, and Beyonce's Single Ladies. We jam out on the way to day care.

We went shopping after day care one day.
